Origin of April FOOLS' Day

Today I crank jokes on my team mate at Iloilo, he was a little bit irritated and said "Happy April Fools day Jed!"

Then afterwards I joke around with my other teammate here in our office (^_^) she really believed me and I also told her likewise (^_^)

I was asked where did April fools day began?

hmmm I got curious and researched on the Internet and here are the information Google gave me from WikiPedia...

The origin of April Fools' Day is obscure. One likely theory is that the modern holiday was first celebrated soon after the adoption of the Gregorian Calendar; the term referred to someone still adhering to the Julian Calendar which it replaced.[2] In many pre-Christian cultures May Day (May 1) was celebrated as the first day of summer, and signalled the start of the spring planting season. An April Fool was someone who did this prematurely. Another origin is that April 1 was counted the first day of the year in France. When King Charles IX changed that to January 1, some people stayed with April 1. Those who did were called "April Fools" and were taunted by their neighbors.[citation needed] In the eighteenth century the festival was often posited as going back to the times of Noah. An English newspaper article published on April 13th, 1789 said that the day had its origins when he sent the raven off too early, before the waters had receded. He did this on the first day of the Hebrew month that corresponds with April.[3] A possible reference to April Fools' Day can be seen in the Canterbury Tales (ca 1400) in the Nun's Priest's tale, a tale of two fools: Chanticleer and the fox, which took place on March 32nd.[4]

Gosh so the true origination was a mystery? hmmm I need to research further...
or can somebody just tell me?

The day before 911

Today is September 10, 2008 it's the day before 911 or September 11 ... the most memorable date in history... Anyway, my topic is not about the historical event but rather bout my life the day before 911 of 2008 Outside the office building is the highway with blue sky and the mountains are visible... Sometimes it makes me think... life is really like a highway... like this picture... hindi maiiwasan ang pagsubok mountains ahead of us symbolize problems and obstacles... but if we look up (in the Lord God) you will see that He is watching us with clear blue sky and eternal life can be achieve if we stay tough. Last night (nang sumakay ako ng jeep pauwi) there were so many thoughts in my mind... bakit nga bah I really don't feel like someone really cares for me... or may hindi ko lang naramdaman kasi all I can see are yung officemate na sobrang magreklamo etc... daming salita ... then all of the sudden... there was this jeep in front of me ... with the sign "Jesus Cares f...

Don’t Drift Away

There are so many reasons to drift away from worshiping God, from going to church and reading the Bible. For the past days I have been so tired of doing the same things all over everyday, my vacation leave can help me “miss” what I used to do… or it will not? I need to think very well during my vacation leave at the moment, be isolated for awhile to let me know if I still wanted to work on the same company or find another company that pays well enough. Anyway our topic for the Sunday service was “Don’t drift away ”. Pastor Ken told us the story about riding a boat or ferry, what we should always have are: A life jacket – incase of emergency we can stay float till the rescue comes Anchor on the Boat or Ferry – if ever the engines get damage at lease it can not drift away with an anchor. To bare this in mind we should not neglect our relationship with God and live a righteous life, just like the boat Jesus is our anchor. read my Christian life experience post... ~~~
